How To Calculate Your Cost:
Measure the shortest side of your quilt top
Add 8” to account for loading
Multiply by Cost per Yard

- Batting must meet our quality and size requirements for machine quilting
- All client-supplied batting is subject to Approval
General Requirements:
- Must NOT contain more than 20% Polyester
- Must be 8” wider AND 8” longer than quilt top (4” extra on each side)
- Must be new
Backing
Supply Your Own:
- Wide Backing (108” wide) highly recommended
- Pieced Backing
Requirements
- Finished backing MUST be 8” longer and 8” wider than quilt top (4” extra on all sides) ***
- All selvages must be trimmed off prior to piecing
- ½” seam is recommended for pieced backing
- Bedsheets are not accepted for backing fabric
Recommendations
- Backings made from Quilt Fabric
- Best if seams run horizontally
- The fewer the seams the better
- Pieced Backings
- Pressed with seams open
- Fabric Recommendations:
- Good quality cotton or muslin
Minky and Fleece backing have a $25 upcharge.
Estimate Your Quilting Price
Minimum Charge: $50
All Edge-to-Edge Quilting is .025 cents per sq. inch
Calculate Your Estimate by filling in the parentheses:
# of Square Inches = (width in inches) X (length in inches)
Quilting Price Estimate = (# of Square Inches) X .025
Example:
60” x 75” = 4500 Square Inches
4500 x .025 = $112.50
*** Highly dense quilting will be assessed for appropriate upcharge.
*** Total cost will include quilting price and batting price as well as optional charges such as binding, variegated thread, fleece backing etc.
*** Maximum Quilt Width accepted is 108"
